Apple has officially launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, introducing upgrades to photography, performance, battery life, and artificial intelligence. Apple unveiled the new Pro models at its September 2026 event, and they will be available to customers later this month.
The new lineup includes two premium models: the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Display And Design
The 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both models use LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED technology. The resolution, refresh rate, and brightness are the same as in earlier models.
Apple has also reduced the size of the Dynamic Island. It can now display up to three Live Activities simultaneously, providing more information without requiring users to open an app.
The iPhone 18 Pro models keep the general design introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro series. Apple continues to use an aluminum body, while the rear glass now comes in matching colors. The phones are available in deep black, silver, glacier, and burgundy.

To help maintain performance during demanding tasks, Apple has also expanded the vapor chamber cooling system. The new system has three times the surface area of the previous generation, allowing the phones to manage heat more effectively.
A Major Camera Upgrade
The camera system is arguably the biggest change in the iPhone 18 Pro series.
The company has introduced a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. This gives users more control over how much light enters the camera. The aperture can be adjusted between four settings, including f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8, and f/4.0.
The wider aperture can allow more light into the sensor in darker environments. This could improve low-light photography while giving experienced users more creative control. Apple has also added manual controls for shutter speed, white balance, and focus directly inside the native Camera app.
The phones support 4K time-lapse video with Dolby Vision HDR. Apple has also added more control over photographic styles, including texture and grain adjustments.
New A20 Pro Chip
One of the biggest internal upgrades is Apple’s new A20 Pro chip.
The processor is built using a 2nm architecture and includes a six-core CPU, a seven-core GPU, and a 32-core Neural Processing Unit. Apple says the new GPU can deliver up to 40 percent better performance in certain workloads compared with the previous generation.
Apple’s growing focus on artificial intelligence is supported by additional neural processing capabilities. The company is integrating AI features into its devices via Apple Intelligence and Siri, which can store and sync previous conversations across all user devices.
Longer Battery Life
Battery life is another major focus of the new models.
Apple claims the iPhone 18 Pro offers up to 36 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches up to 45 hours, making it the longest-lasting iPhone. The Pro Max also sees a significant battery improvement over its predecessor.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Pricing and Availability
Apple has increased the starting prices of both Pro models compared with the previous generation.
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 with 256GB of storage. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299, also with 256GB. Both models are available with storage options reaching up to 2TB.
In markets like Pakistan, the final retail price is higher due to taxes and local costs. The iPhone 18 Pro may cost around Rs 582,000, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could reach about Rs 610,000 after registration.
Apple will begin accepting preorders on September 12, 2026, while the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will officially become available on September 18.
