Claude AI in Military Operations | How U.S. used AI In Iran Conflict

Ai in U.S Iran War

Now, Artificial Intelligence is being used in military operations. The recent reports say that during a major military operation in February–March 2026, the U.S used Anthropic Claude AI in the war against Iran. This artificial intelligence tool is usually used in writing, coding, analysis, and problem-solving tasks.

The Pentagon has not officially announced how AI was used in military operations, but according to reports, the U.S. military and its allies use AI to support military planning and intelligence analysis. This makes their operation fast because the traditional process could take hours or even days. Military analysts had to study intelligence reports, drone images, and communication data before making a decision. So, now AI systems can analyze massive amounts of information within seconds. This allows military planners to identify potential targets and make strategic decisions much faster than before.

Many researchers believe that these developments mark the beginning of a new era of warfare. Instead of relying only on human analysis, militaries are increasingly using AI systems to process data. AI can quickly identify patterns and recommend possible targets or strategies. This allows governments to respond faster during conflicts.

However, experts warn that speed also brings new risks.

Ethical Concerns

As we already mentioned about the Use of AI in war in our artical. Now, there are serious ethical concerns raised with the use of AI in war, especially after the state media reported that a missile strike hit a school in Iran, killing many civilians. The United Nations called it a possible “violation of humanitarian law”.

Many people are worried about how AI systems might affect military decisions. Even though humans make the final decisions. But the quick and complex analysis from AI can make it harder to fully understand every situation.

Meanwhile, there has been tension between the U.S. government and Anthropic because the company wanted limits on how Claude AI could be used in warfare. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said, “The company aimed to set clear ethical limits”. They wanted strict rules on how the government could use their technology. These rules were meant to stop the AI system from being used for mass surveillance of American citizens or for fully autonomous weapons. At the same time, Donald Trump ordered federal agencies to stop using Anthropic’s technology within six months, calling the company a potential supply-chain risk.
